DUI is a design blog filled with articles and information. Despite the name, this is not your local AA.

It’s finally cooled off, but that doesn’t mean the daily dose is going anywhere. Hope everyone had a nice Tuesday. Time to get to the days goods. Working on a couple new articles I hope to finally get out this week so you have something other than DUI’s to read, just some client work and customer things to clean up have been getting in the way. Soon, very soon.

Web Links

On the Web

Check out these choice links of the day. Worth a read (or two).

How to Communicate Design Decisions to Clients - Smashing Magazine
Interesting article over at SM about how to communicate the designs you make with your clients. I usually tend to like all of SM’s content, although the lists are sometimes overdone* (See article soon). This is just another example of prime-time content everyone should check out.

Facebook New Design Launched - Facebook Dev Blog
The new Facebook design is now available for everyone to try out. Although it has yet to be pushed to all users, you can visit the link above to start viewing profiles the new way. It will take some time getting used to, especially for me. What I do like is you no longer are swamped with 100’s of applications from the idiots who add every app they get a request to add. I think the main screen after you login could use some more work for now though, as it seems a little blank and boring.

Spokeo
Interesting site and idea. Spokeo searches your contact’s names for their social network profiles and other web references to your name. It’s damn accurate too. I only checked the site out for a few minutes so far (first DUI review maybe?), but it is interesting to say the least. What I’m not very found about is the ability to view everything. My social networks are for the most part, for my friends. I have my own company / business related profiles where I have a much more professional look and feel, so I wouldn’t want a potential client doing a background check on me and getting the wrong idea.

The Dark Knight Promo

On Screen

Like I said I had planned to do last night, I finally got the chance to see Batman: The Dark Knight. What a kick ass movie. If you didn’t catch this over the weekend, do it as soon as possible. The only complaint I’ve seen from people has been that the movie’s a bit too long. True, it seems like there a couple different times where the movie could end, but you don’t want it to. I can handle movies regardless of length if they are fill of action, and Batman is that from beginning to end. There are very few slow parts throughout. Ledger’s Joker performance is top of the line. I give this 4.5/5 stars. Another sequel? I hope so.
